Doctor Of Physical Therapy Specializing in Performance Therapy; Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, Certified Manual Therapist, Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist
Randi Esquibel, PT, DPT, OCS, MTC, OMT
Hi! For those who know me, you're already aware of my passion for human movement and performance. Helping others achieve their goals and solving problems are equal parts career and hobby for me. For those I have not met yet, thank you for taking the time to get to know me!
I have a deep passion for learning, collaborating, and sharing knowledge with like-minded professionals. Over time, I have cultivated a professional network comprising specialists such as neuro-optometrists, dentists/orthodontists, traditional and sports acupuncturists, sports massage therapists, chiropractors, craniosacral and visceral body workers, mental performance coaches, biomechanists, athletic trainers, data analytics experts, local team and skill-specific coaches, personal trainers, pelvic floor physical therapists, and numerous physical therapists.
Inherently inquisitive and curious, I continuously educate myself on all aspects of human movement and function, fascinated by the seamless interconnectedness of it all. My hope is to empower individuals by revitalizing their human function, enabling them to perform at their maximum potential each day. Beyond empowering healing, my mission extends to helping individuals restore their innate ability to self-regulate through alternating, reciprocating movement, and breathing techniques.
With a heightened interest in repetitive rotational athletes and their potential for greater or more complex compensatory strategies, I have dedicated the past 8+ years of my career to deepening my knowledge and experience in working with youth, collegiate, and professional softball and baseball players. Collaborating with highly experienced strength and conditioning specialist and elite softball pitching coach Dana Sorensen of Sorensen Elite Softball Pitching, as well as with Jono Green, an experienced strength and conditioning specialist and personal trainer at Symbiotic Training Center, both specializing in individualized programming within a small group-based setting, has allowed me to deepen my understanding of human movement, specific biomechanics, and unique strategies employed by repetitive rotation athletes. Working as a team, we ensure individuals continue to perform at their best, leveraging their unique capabilities and skill sets.
My primary motivation is keeping athletes on the field and individuals engaged in what they love. Having personally dealt with numerous injuries that kept me off the field, I now recognize that a better understanding of my body and utilizing the necessary tools available to manage its specific needs could have potentially prevented some traumas and missed playing time. Consequently, helping others avoid injury, reach their goals, and perform at their best is ingrained in the fundamentals of each patient relationship and treatment plan.
My treatment methodologies offer a holistic perspective on human movement, focusing on helping each individual comprehend their internal body-brain conversation to better understand what their bodies are communicating. Together, we build awareness of movement and postural patterns in daily activities and sports, gradually constructing a personalized 'toolbox' to overcome limitations or imbalances. This process necessitates a high level of engagement and participation from patients in self-testing and body awareness practices in both daily life and sports. I often remind my patients that they are the sole inhabitants of their bodies, and therefore possess the most accurate information. Empowering them to articulate their sensations or describe their pain, even if it involves sounds instead of words, is not always a swift process. However, allowing patients time to listen to their bodies, engage in self-dialogue, and possibly express sensations through sounds invariably guides us towards clearer insights.
Through such techniques and applying a deepened understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, respiratory mechanics, biotensegrity, and optimal human movement, we strive to restore your ability to independently manage your own health, refine your movement strategies, and evolve through a comprehensive approach tailored to meet your goals.
